I Broke My Wrist
I'm going to keep this really short, already been overusing my newfound typing abilities today, but I do just want to make a record of it.
I live in Minnesota, icy out in the winter and whatnot. On February 20th — so close to the end of winter — I slipped and caught myself on my wrist and broke my radius and ulna. Basically the roads in the townhome development I live in are an ice rink and they just leave it that way. I stopped to breathe in the air, took a step, slipped and tried to catch myself from landing square on my back.
Today, 14 days after my injury, I got my more permanent splint and can finally type again — halle-fricken-lujah. It hasn't been terrible, the pain has been super manageable and I've never actually broken a bone before, so it was at least a bucket list activity (also never had surgery before so that was cool). I took the time to binge-watch Silicon Valley (at first it induced some anxiety, but I've enjoyed it overall lol) and read part 1 of Gödel, Escher, Bach. I get to head back to work on Monday!
Before my injury, I had some updates I wanted to post regarding Timewaste, so hoping to get around to that shortly, but for now I'll just settle for this small little post.
